When does the next course start?

The next intake will starts 21st September 2024 Alternate Saturday 10-1.

Can I start to work in a dental practice before or I have to wait until I start the course?

You don't need to wait to start the course to work in a dental practice. You can start to work as soon as you attended the interview, then we will provide you with an enrolment letter which the employer will need before you can start work. We can also help you find a placement.

To be able to finish the course, students must be working full or part-time as a trainee dental nurse. This is because there is a NEBDN requirement for a portfolio of practical experience, the Record of Experience (ROE) which can only be done if the student works in a dental practice.

Do I need any qualifications or experience in dentistry to start the course?

No previous qualifications are needed. We invite applicants to come along to the center for an information session, discuss any concerns or needs, and then offer a place based on a satisfactory short English literacy. No experience necessary. However, students need to find employment in a dental practice before starting the course.

What happens after I am accepted on the Course?

The next step is to secure your place by making a non-refundable deposit of £450. Following that, the monthly fee of £255 will be payable from September for seven months. Additionally, an exam fee of £510 will need to be paid to NEBDN.

What topics will be covered during the course?

The syllabus includes 15 topics as follows:

2.  Emergencies in the Clinical Environment
3.  Legal and Ethical Issues in the Provision of Dental Care. 
4.  Anatomical Structures and Systems Relative to Dental Care. 
5.  Oral Disease and Pathology.
6.  Patient Care and Management. 
7.  Assessing Patients' Oral Health Needs and Treatment Planning.
8.  Oral Health Promotion and Preventive Dentistry. 
9.  Restorative Dentistry. 
10. Oral Surgery. 
11. Orthodontic Procedures. 
12. Dental Drugs, Materials, Instruments, and Equipment. 
13. Pain and Anxiety Control in Dentistry. 
14. Radiography. 
15. Communication.

What are Dental Premier's recent exam results?

We are delighted that, with our Tutor’s guidance, our students’ dedication to their goals led to success in the recent National Diploma examinations. We helped over 500 students qualify as dental nurses. 

Can I register with the General Dental Council once I have the qualification?

You can apply for registration as a Dental Nurse once you have passed both parts of the exam. Their website is www.gdc-uk.org.

​How can I progress my Career after I become qualified?

There is a range of specialist courses available to Dental Nurses looking to progress in their careers. NEBDN (National Examining Board for Dental Nurses) post-registration qualifications include:

Certificate in Oral Health Education.
Certificate in Dental Sedation nursing
Certificate in Special Care Dental Nursing
Certificate in Orthodontic Nursing
Certificate in Dental Radiography

Certificate in Fluoride Application

Dental Implant Nursing

Many of our students, after qualifying, moved into other dentistry-associated roles such as Dental Practice Manager, Head Dental Nurse, or Dental Nurse Team Leader. Further qualifications can prepare Dental Nurses to work as Dental Nurse Tutors, Dental Hygienists, or Dental Therapists
